Holiday Blues

It's been a while since I've posted anything and I have been spurred on to do so by a bad dose of the 'holiday blues'

After a week away enjoying the Northern Coast of Crete, aqua blue lagoons, endless sunshine, beautiful sunsets, great food, even better cocktails and delightful people it was a bit of a shock to the system to be boarding a bus heading for Central London at 7.30am this morning. It was an even bigger shock to try get back into the swing of things but 7 hours later I'm beginning to feel like I was never away.

If you ever find yourself in the pretty town of Rethymnon you must visit the following;

Alana - pretty restaurant with great meat dishes at very reasonable prices and waitors. Loved their brightly coloured hand blown tumblers. www.alana-restaurant.gr

Living Room - situated on the seafront in the old town, this bar is uber stylish with a very relaxed vibe www.living.com.gr

Avli - beautiful surroundings, ask to be seated in the garden out back which is away from the busy side streets of the old town. Great food, a little a on the pricey side but worth every penny www.avli.gr

That's enough day dreaming for one day, the cold chill streaming in the window from a dull, overcast London has brought me back to reality!

Possibly the prettiest sweet shop I've seen, Mrs. Kibble's Olde Sweet Shoppe in St. Christopher's Place off Oxford Street is 100% sweet heaven and a great find in among the cool boutiques and cafes in this little shopping bubble.

I have decided to record and take photo's of my favourite shops....this is something I've been meaning to do for so long but I finally started today on my early morning ramble around Regent and Oxford Street. I have loved Uniqlo for years, the best jeans and basic knitwear all at great prices this shop rocks, Liberty has got it's groove back and is a stand out London institution, I stocked up on some crafty bits for a new project, the sales assistant on the craft floor was so nice! Top marks for customer service :o)

Just around the corner from Liberty is Anna Lou who has great kitch jewellery and on the opposite side of the road lies Dahlia who stock pretty, vintage inspired clothes, both shops are really affordable and offer items that are really different from what you find on the high street. Love them, love them lots!
